"When the breath wanders the mind also is unsteady. But when the breath is calmed the mind too will be still, and the yogi achieves long life. Therefore, one should learn to control the breath." ~Svatmarama, Hatha Yoga Pradipika
BREATH! Our breath is something that we take for granted it is so easy to do, we can do it with our eyes closed! Our breath is an autonomic nervous system reflex and is greatly under valued, yet with out it none of us would be here. Every living thing breathes in some way, breath is a vital life force, breath is prana-energy.
In an extra special workshop we will explore the importance of breath in regards to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual body, through traditional pranayama (branch of yoga concentrating on the breath) practices. Followed by a deeply restorative and relaxing yoga nidra (yogic sleep).
The entire practice will be heightened through the use of sound. Bhakti will bathe the atmosphere with live acoustic and electronic instruments, playing with heart and precision to hit notes that resonate deeply for a full mind body and soul experience.
This practice aims enhance ones understanding and awareness of self as well as ground, energise and improve overall heath as a result of better breathing habits.Find us for an early Sunday afternoon pranayama session
